Musicology and scholar research have always been a way for Dr. Henderson to intellectually approach and interpret the art of music. Dr. Henderson is an author of numerous published articles, reviews, and interviews (Cue Sheet, International Alliance for Women in Music Journal, and various Macedonian and Yugoslavian journals). While living in Macedonia she was a concert reviewer for various magazines (Ekran, Mlad Borec, Studentski Zbor) and for Macedonian Radio and Television. She is a co-author of the Catalog of Macedonia Music Artists with Snezana Anastasova Cadikovska (Skopje, ZMUM-MIKIC, 1988). Her major scholar research includes the master thesis "Macedonian Piano Music: Compositional, Technical, and Stylistic Features" (1991), the project "Composers in Voivodina" (1992), and the book "Alex North, Film Composer" (McFarland Publishers, 2003).
She has researched various musical topics and given lectures at many music symposiums and conferences. She was a lecturer on the subject of North’s music for “The Misfits” (1995) and “Prizzi’s Honor” (1998) at the International Film Music Conference in Los Angeles, as well as on North’s score for “The Dead” at the annual meeting of the Music Libraries Association in San Diego (2004).
